Raising money for Birmingham PHAB Camps
About
Birmingham PHAB Camps is a local charity that brings together young people with and without disabilities to share inclusive, fun, and life-changing experiences. Through residential camps and activities, they create opportunities for adventure, friendship, and personal growth in a fully supportive environment. At the heart of their work is a commitment to breaking down social barriers, building confidence, and ensuring that every young person feels included and valued.
Why
My connection to Birmingham PHAB Camps is both personal and longstanding. Long before founding Blue Badgers, I volunteered for Birmingham PHAB Camps on residential camps, where disabled and non-disabled children and young people come together to share experiences, build friendships, and simply have fun.
I loved my time with Birmingham PHAB Camps, and my husband Mike joined me on some of those camps too. Looking back, those experiences really shaped my understanding of inclusion and, in many ways, led me to Blue Badgers.
What makes this charity so special is how naturally it brings people together, breaking down barriers through adventure and play. The impact lasts long after the camps end, building confidence, independence, and lasting friendships. Supporting Birmingham PHAB Camps means a lot to me, as it gives young people the chance to feel that same sense of belonging and joy that first inspired me.
