Endometriosis UK is the leading charity in the UK dedicated to supporting people affected by Endometriosis and improving how the condition is understood and treated. They provide support through helplines, support groups, and online communities, offering a safe space for people to share experiences and access reliable information. The charity also raises awareness by educating the public, employers, and healthcare professionals, helping to challenge misconceptions and promote earlier recognition of symptoms. In addition, they campaign for better healthcare by working with the government and the NHS to improve diagnosis times and treatment standards. They also support and influence research into the causes and treatment of endometriosis, while empowering individuals with the knowledge and tools to advocate for their own health.

Why

Endometriosis has impacted my life since I was a teenager. For many years, I was misdiagnosed with IBS before finally receiving a diagnosis of endometriosis at the age of 27. I underwent multiple excision surgeries to remove the disease, along with various hormone therapies, but ultimately required a total hysterectomy due to stage 4 endometriosis. This condition affects 1 in 10 women worldwide, is incurable, and can cause debilitating pain that significantly impacts quality of life.
