Anthony Nolan is a UK stem cell transplant charity with over 50 years of expertise in uniting science and people to push the boundaries of what can be achieved for blood cancer and blood disorder patients.

It’s world-first and world-leading stem cell register matches potential donors to patients in need of transplants. It carries out cell and gene therapy research to increase transplant success and supports patients through their transplant journeys.

Anthony Nolan helps four people in need of a transplant a day, giving more people a second chance at life. But the charity won’t stop until all patients have access to the treatment they need, so many more survive.

Why

I chose Anthony Nolan as my charity because of the lifesaving support it gives to people who are diagnosed with blood cancer and blood disorders.

In 2014 my husband ‘Ian’ was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia.

When other treatments failed to work, Ian was offered a lifesaving stem cell transplant through Anthony Nolan, who, in a very short time found him a 10/10 match from their register of donors.

The transplant was successful and Ian went on to enjoy a few more years of his life.

Anthony Nolan supported him throughout his very complex transplant journey.

We were ever grateful to them for their invaluable help and expertise, also to the person who donated their stem cells to make this possible.

They had all saved his life.
